The Central Districts H.O.G Chapter continues to flourish with membership over the past five years averaging around 150 members. The Chapter was formed in Palmerston North in 1990, with Anza Motorcycles as the sponsoring dealer.
The roads and countryside around the lower North Island lend themselves to enjoyable and varied riding, and the Chapter rides all year round. The approaching summer will give us better weather and even more enjoyable rides, and there is a strong contingent riding South to the National Rally, in Dunedin.
As with most or all H.O.G Chapters, a great deal of our time and effort is spent assisting local charities. It\'s one of the integral aspects which makes being a H.O.G member worthwhile, and for us the local Rescue helicopter has been given continued support. Our latest event was a fund-raising ride, and arranging the conclusion of the ride to coincide with the arrival of the helicopter in the bike parking area enabled to public to view both the spectacular Harleys and the helicopter...two types of \"choppers\" together.
Central Districts will be hosting the NZ National Rally in 2001. We are a friendly bunch, with something happening almost every other weekend, so if you read this and live in the area and ride America\'s best, then why not join our Chapter and ride and party with us.
