3 Days at Oparau 2012

Posted: Thu 08 Sep 2011

For 2012 the Oparau Enduro will be part of a 3 day riding weekend that will be the biggest event in the area since the Australia 4 day Enduro way back in 2001.

Being held on the 4th 5th and 6th of February the first day will be the Annual Enduro.

The Oparau Enduro is part of the Yamaha National Enduro Championships and always attracts a wide variety of riders from the championship contenders to the riders who just want a great days riding.

On the 5th it will be the Hauturu School fundraiser Trail Ride that will feature a 40k main loop and a kids track.

The final event for the weekend will be the No Way In Hell Extreme Enduro which will start on the Sunday afternoon after the trail ride with the prologue for the main event.

The prologue will be a 10k course that riders will complete 4 times. Just like a mini cross country race but a little bit harder. Also the prologue won’t be to extreme as we are saving the hard stuff for the following day.

The prologue will determine the start order for the following day with the fastest rider from the prologue starting first.

We are holding the prologue on the Sunday afternoon so any trail riders can hang around a bit and watch the racing as there will be some really good viewing points.

The Enduro and the trail ride will be entry on day but the NWIH will be pre entry. Entry forms will be out soon.

Also if you ride enter the Enduro and the NWIH you can ride the trail ride for free.

Camping is allowed all weekend. So if you are looking for a great couple of days of enduro riding or a trail ride and a chance to watch some of the best enduro riders in the country tackle the country’s toughest extreme enduro come out and give it a go.
