Groomed to Perfection
We at Epic Events have taken track grooming to new heights.
It has all become possible because we have a new 700cc fuel injected Kingquad from Suzuki that has huge towing power.
For the past 5 years or so we have been using a small Bulldozer to make or grade trails and the finish was pretty good. But there were still a few lumps and bumps that stood in the way of our search for ‘the perfect trail’.
So we have made a small leveling bar to tow behind the quad after the Bulldozer has passed. We do 3 passes over new trails and one pass over existing. Yep it takes time and yes the fuel bill has gone up a wee bit, but we reckon it’s well worth the effort.
The result is a perfectly groomed 2 metre wide pumice trail that just screams out to be ridden at pace and with total confidence.
For ’07 we have been busy in the bush making new trails. We have made a new 10km trail, totally revamped the 3km Novice trail, made a new kids forest trail, a new kids grass track and injected 5km of new trail into the old 35km trail to make it a 40km trail.
So if this sounds like a bit of you, then you had better start getting ready for the first Suzuki Trail Blazer of the year taking place this Sunday the 13th of May just out of Taupo.
