Husqvarna rider, Paul Whibley, the 23 year old Forestry worker from Marton whose key sponsors are: Husqvarana Italy, Husqvarna NZ, Husqvarna Australia, Acerbis riding gear, Sidi boots, HJC helmets won the first round of the National Cross Country Championship.
On Sunday, 24 March he won the second round of the National Cross Country Championship held near Taumaranui.
Whibley won both the 250 class and the event outright, leading from start to finish. Second was Sean Clarke and third was Adam Youren.
Whibley is the current NZ Cross Country and Enduro champion.
