Josh Coppins´ first international ride upon a Honda CR didn`t happen in New Zealand nor Europe. And the Kiwi wasn`t on a 250 nor on an outdoor circuit. It was at the 3rd January California´s Anaheim SX stadium meet and on a 125.
In fact, it was the first round of the West Coast 125 Supercross Championship where the 250cc Grand Prix contender made his debut as a Red Rider.
Josh´s schedule allows for three Supercross appearances throughout the remaining Saturdays of January; San Diego (12.), Anaheim II (19.) and Phoenix (26.). Riding a Pro Circuit Honda CR 125, the 24-year old Kiwi expat is accompanied by his Italian mechanic Fabio Santoni.
Coppins has been in California since Decemer 26 and will continue his preparation for the Italian and World Championships in February in Italy alongside Berni Honda teammate Pit Beirer.
Coppins did not feature in the 20 starters in Anaheim so presumably failed to qualify and he finished in 19th place at San Diego.
