last event was 10.5 hours motoring time -average trail ride is 3-3.5

Classes:

- 60 Riders,
- no under 18,
- No Quads as they often get caught out in tight spots.
- 99% of access and pre-ride achieved.

Terrain:

We will encounter everything you can think of- rivers, creeks, bridges, jumps, swamps, bush, cliff tops, Beach n' sand, Papa banks, open paddocks, tight single tracks, hills to climb- blah blah and 14 kms of coastal views. The weekend is possibly 300-350kms. Will know if pre-ride the whole event.

Accommodation, menu and cost near sorted.
The cost is $170, going up to $175 after 20.2.2010
We will use 17 road crossings, using 2.1kms of road.
A completly different event this year, 65-70 farms to get Porangahau Beach and back with only 2 being the same ones (due to figure of 8 pattern)
Fluro- Yellow for riders, Red/Orange for Marshels.
A disk of 300+ photos to all riders at no cost.

I have learnt a lot and will manage road crossings in a swifter way, have a new sweep system to make closing of gates much easier to manage, food will be dished up to avoid others missing out, payment options are much shorter, i dont intend to crap off, but if i do- the updated mapping and GPS should get you all home.

What pissed me off was -a couple of riders pushed my limits on the worn tyre issue and a couple crossed a dressed paddock a couple of gates were closed before the sweep!?!

I would say that a few riders have learnt the value of carrying a jacket, I would like to think many of you will reduce the gear you take- it was a full truck and a half!!
